My high school art classes were my favorite art classes I’ve ever taken. The teachers always helped me to push myself further than I thought possible. They brought out my creativity more than any other class. Most of my favorite art pieces are from high school. My all time favorite piece I’ve ever done was from my junior year, Art 4 with Mrs. B. She was a wonderful teacher and honestly came up with some of my favorite projects. That year we had a big project where were to find our favorite famous piece of art an recreate it on a wine bottle. I had some pieces of art that I had liked but I couldn’t think of one I truly loved. I began researching Salvador Dali’s pieces because his art always stood out to me. His work always felt so deep & were stunning to me. In the process of looking through his work I finally found the piece that really stood out to me. It was “The Burning Giraffe”. This piece instantly spoke to me.

Mrs. B warned me that it would be extremely tricky and asked if I was sure I wanted to proceed. I knew that I had to try my hardest to recreate this piece. It spoke so much volume to me. I worked on it for at least 2 months, in and outside of clasws. I worked on it until the moment it was due, making every single detail as perfect as I could possible manage. It turned out so beautiful and I was beyond proud of myself for pulling it off. Mrs. B obviously agreed with me because I received an A!
