Welcome to my blog, The Art of Tomorrow, where everything will be about art! I’m going to start out my blog by introducing myself and explain my passion for art. I am completely new to this whole blogging thing so please bear with me on this journey as I am sure it will take me a bit to get used to.

So, as I’m sure some of you may have already figured out my name is Katlan which is actually pronounced like “katelyn”. My mom wanted to be different. I am from a small town in Kentucky, born and raised. I have always been very passionate about art, if I wasn’t drawing or painting I was dancing or finding some other way to enjoy art.

My passion began very early on, I bagan drawing the houses on my street, objects around me, and just about anything I could see. My grandfather was very fond of my passion and always told me to continue practicing and never give up on my love for art. He passed away while I was still young, leaving a beautiful guitar behind for me. Although I never was able to learn to play, I promised myself I’d never give up my passion and would continue to practice and advance myself.

Growing up my simple passion for drawing grew into a larger art, dance. In 3rd grade I joined clogging which I continued for a few years until I was introduced into the dance team at my school. I tried out and made it, thankfully. I loved every minute of dance team, practices could be tough but they were worth every minute of it to end up on stage at compititions. The stage fright I had was definitely real but as soon as that music started I lost myself moving to the beat forgetting I was ever In front of an audience.

Dance is one of my favorite types of art but as the years go on I find it more difficult to continue my passion for it. This has opened me to a bigger passion of painting. I have spent most of my life painting and trying to create beautiful artworks l. I love being able to see a beautiful picture in your mind and recreate it on a canvas. Painting allows me to give my feelings meaning and keeps my anxiety under control. I have dealt with many different health issues  in the past 2 years and I know If never have overcome it if I didn’t paint my way through it.

As you can see art has had a huge impact on my life, I have never given my passion up   I hope you guys never give yours up either! I hope you enjoy my art blog and learning a little about your newest blogger. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read it!
